Actually, there were several rumors of Mara and Phoenix dating published back in the media. The couple maintained a low key profile. The rumors of the couple’s relationship broke out in the early January when they had a struck up a romance on the set of a biblical tale “Mary Magdalene.” In the tale, Phoenix stars as Jesus, and in another side, Mara plays the titular character.

The couple was often spotted together both in on and off the set while filming. They also went in an outing on their Italian hotel’s balcony where they were spotted hanging out while smoking.

Back once, Mara and Phoenix were also seen leaving a spa in California just a couple of days of their romance broke out in the media. They have always tried their best to keep their relationship out of the limelight and only seen together a handful of times.

Mara and Phoenix confirmed their long relationship rumors when they were spotted together out for the first public event together at the Cannes Film Festival.

During their first public event together, Mara and Phoenix were seen to be intimately chatting, and the warm embrace after Phoenix won the best actor award for his performance in the drama “You Were Never Really Here” is what made everyone clear about their current relationship. Later, they were in hand-in-hand.

On September 7, 2017, Mara and  Phoenix took their romance to the next level. The duo who rarely made their appearance together have now been enjoying a live-in relationship. The couple resides in their Hollywood Hills house.
