Mike's Early Life and Career
Mike Myers was born on May 25, 1963, in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, to British parents. Mike has two brothers- Peter Myers and Paul Myers. He is the youngest one. He has raised a Protestant. Myers grew up in suburban Toronto districts, where he attended Sir John A. Macdonald Collegiate Institute, later graduated from the Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute. After completion of his graduation, he became a member of the Second City Theatre, an improvisational comedy group in Chicago. He later went on a tour to Britain with comedian, Neil Mullarkey. At the age of 12, he appeared on the Canadian TV sitcom, ‘King of Kensington' as Ari. In 1985 he relocated to the UK, where he became one of the co-founders of ‘Comedy Store Players'. He starred at ‘Wide Awake Club', a UK based children's TV series. He became one of the cast members of a Second City Theatre stage show in Toronto in 1986. After being a member of improvisational comedy theatre group, ‘ImprovOlympic', he auditioned to be a part of the American sketch comedy and variety show, ‘Saturday Night Live'. He was selected to join the cast as one of the featured players. In his comedy film, ‘Wayne's World', he played, ‘Wayne Campbell', which was directed by Penelope Spheeris. The film received positive reviews. In the film, ‘So I Married an Axe Murderer' he played double roles as ‘Charlie McKenzie' and ‘Stuart McKenzie'. He also acted in the films, ‘The Thin Pink Line' and ‘Pete's Meteor'. Between 2001-2004, he played a voice role in the animated film titled, ‘Shrek' and ‘The Cat in the Hat', ‘Shrek 4-D, ‘Shrek 2', ‘Shrek the Third' and ‘Shrek Forever After'. They have a son who is a football lover, he has played for the celebrity football team, Hollywood United F.C. He played the Soccer Aid for UNICEF UK football match in 2010.
