Dey with a full name of Susan Hallock Dey was born to parents Ruth Pyle Dey and Robert Smith-Dey, on December 10, 1952, in Pekin, Illinois, United States.

Talking about her educational background, she attended Columbus Elementary School, situated in Thornwood, New York. She graduated in 1970 from the Fox Lane High School.

Before coming to fame as an actress, she worked as a model starring as Laurie Partridge in the television series The Partridge Family from 1970 to 1974.

In 1972, she debuts on the big screen from the movie, “Skyjacked” where she portrayed Charlton Heston.

Her appearance on the big screen was seen later in 1977 when she portrayed Caroline in the movie, “First Love”.
