Phil Robertson was born on April 24, 1946, in Vivian, Louisiana, the United States as Phil Alexander Roberston. Robertson is the fifth child of Merritt and James Robertson out of seven siblings. He lived in rugged conditions without electricity, toilet or bathtub and no indoor plumbing. Robertson attended an athlete in high school on a full football scholarship which afforded him the opportunity to attend Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. He was the star of the football team in the starting quarterback, ahead of Pro Football Hall of Framer Terry Bradshaw. Later, he received a master's degree in education and initially supported his family as a teacher.
