In August 2011, Lim joined YouTube and in meantime he able to make a good number of fans following. 

Shin was very interested in music also whereas he was more focused on magic. Shin dropped his college to pursue his career in magic. After that, he gives full time on making the magic videos and uploading on YouTube. 

Shin Lim is an artistic magician who created several card magic like 52 Shades of Red, which really attracts a large number of viewers. In 2012, he participated in The International Federation of Magic Societies (FISM) World Championship where he won the sixth place.

In 2013, he was approached by an agent to tour across China. His magic tricks were really loved by the number of people and he became the final artist at the end of the tour. In 2015, Lim won The International Federation of Magic Societies for Close-up Card Magic.  

After his popularity all over the world, the magician Shin Lim appeared in different shows and programs. Shin appeared on Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015 and in 2017. His first appearance in the show went viral and the video has over 52 million views as of September 2018. Then after Lim uploaded a YouTube video Pray for Paris in tribute to the victims of the November 2015 Paris attacks. 

On 19 September 2018, Shin Lim was the winner of America's Got Talent. He participated in the 13th season of America's Got Talent, where he performed different tricks with dialogue and other supportive elements which make him the finalist of the show. At his final performance, he showed incredible artistic card magic tricks combining music and magic and won the 13th season of America's Got Talent.
After winning the shows he got more popularity in the media which really helped him to boost his magic career. Not only America's Got talent, but he also won several other awards like North American Joint S.A.M. and I.B.M. People Choice awards (2014) and many others.

Early Life And Education Of Shin Lim

Shin Lim was born on 25 September 1991 in British Columbia, Canada. Shin Lim is the second child among three siblings of Singapore born parents. At the age of 2, Shin and his parents moved to  Singapore and spent his childhood there and at 11 they were again moved to Acton, Massachusetts.
 
Lim attended Acton Boxborough Regional High School, Acton, Massachusetts. He was interested in music, so he studied music at Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee.   

Shin Lim's Personal Life

Regarding his personal life, Shin Lim is a genuine gentleman. He was engaged in the long-time love of his life Casey Thomas. This couple was in a relationship since 2016. They were seen together on different dinner dates and vacations. Shin Lim proposed her at the House of Magic, Macau, in front of more than 2000 people on 20 August 2017 during a magic show. The magician asked those magical words to his sweetheart Casey to marry him. 

Since the magical engagement, Lim is happily living with his fiancee Thomas in Boston, Massachusetts.  

Lim was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome at the age of 20. The syndrome causes numbness and tingling in the thumb, index finger, middle finger and thumb side of the ring finger. In 2016, he injured two tendons of his left thumb for which he thought he won't be able to perform his skills. However, after surgery, the problem was fixed.
