He was born on 10 April 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana named as Kenneth Brian Edmonds.He is a son of Marvin (Father) and Barbara Edmonds (Mother) was a production operator at a pharmaceutical plant. Brian has grown up along with six siblings brother.Babyface studied at North Central High School. When he was in eighth grade his father passed away due to lung cancer. At this stage, he has built up a strong interest towards a musical career.He played with funk legend Bootsy Collins from whom he received the nickname "Babyface" because of his cute face.
