How Did Hank Azaria Start His Career 

Hank Azaria along with Platt set up his own theater company titled Big Theatre. However, they performed only one play, "The Dumb Waiter" by Harold Pinter. Later, Hank realized that a career in TV would provide more opportunities, so he moved to Los Angeles and started working with his agent Harry Gold.

Hank made his TV debut in a pilot episode of the ABC comedy-drama series, "Joe Bash". He next appeared in the TV film, "Nitti: The Enforcer" which was related to the story of the gangster Frank Nitti.

Later, Hank appeared in an episode TV show, "Family Ties" as well in an episode of "Growing Pains". During this time, he also worked as a standup comedian and also been a bartender for a catering firm before fame.

Hank was featured playing the tole of the villain Gargamel in the movie, "The Smurfs". 

In 1989, he started working in the animated TV series, "The Simpsons", for which he started earning much popularity. Hank Azaria was born on April 25, 1964, in Queens, New York City, in the United States as Hank Albert Azaria. His parents were Ruth, a homemaker, and Albert Azaria, who ran several dress-manufacturing businesses. He has two siblings, sisters Stephanie and Elise.

Concerning about his education, Hank was educated from Kew-Forest School in Forest Hills. Later, he went to Tufts University, where he studied drama. During this time, he became friends with actor Oliver Platt, and they both starred in various stage productions such as "The Merchant of Venice" the famous play by Shakespeare. 

Hank also trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. However, he wasn’t confident about his acting skills, and though he decided to become a professional actor, he didn’t expect much success. Still, he didn’t want to regret not having tried.
