The Career of Jacques Kallis-

In the year 1995, Kallis made his International debut in a Test match against England. Kallis surprised the entire world with his batting and bowling skills. Kallis played countless memorable innings for South Africa and even took several crucial wickets that helped South Africa win several test matches. In the year 2012, Kallis scored 224 runs against Srilanka which is his highest test score. Kallis holds the record for the second-highest number of centuries in Test cricket with 45 centuries just behind the great Sachin Tendulkar with 51 centuries. Kallis contributed not only with his bat but also with his bowling taking 292 wickets with his best bowling figure of 6/54 which came in a match against England. 

Kallis made his ODI debut in the year 1996 against England. Kallis got recognized globally after his outstanding performance in the 1998 ICC Champions Trophy. Kallis was one of the most vital players in the South African team that won the 1998 ICC Champions Trophy. Jacques was also named the "Player of the Series". Kallis contributed to the South African national team both from his bowling and batting scoring 17 centuries and 86 half-centuries. Kallis's highest score in ODI is 139 which came against the West Indies whereas his best ODI bowling figure of 5/30 came against West Indies too in the year 1998.       

Talking about Kallis's IPL career, he initially played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore but in the 2011 IPL season, Kallis was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders. Kallis played a crucial role in KKR winning the 2012 IPL. Kallis played a total of 98 matches scoring 2427 runs and taking 65 wickets. Kallis retired from his International career in the year 2014 when he played his last match against Sri Lanka.
