The Career of Viv Richards-

Viv Richards began his club career in the year 1972 when he played for the Leeward Islands. Sir Viv made his Test debut for the West Indies in the year 1974 against India. Sir Viv went on to play 121 Test matches, scoring 8,540 runs at an average of 50.23, including 24 centuries and 45 half-centuries. In the year 1976, Sir Viv scored his highest test score of 291 in the final test against England. He also played in 187 One Day Internationals (ODIs), scoring 6,721 runs at an average of 47.00, including 11 centuries and 45 half-centuries. In the year 1984, Sir Viv scored his highest ODI score of 189 against England. Richards was known for his aggressive batting style and his ability to dominate the opposition bowlers. Sir Viv Richards played a very vital role in the West Indies' dominance of world cricket during the 1970s and 1980s, winning two World Cup titles in the years 1975 and 1979. Sir Viv Richards even captained the West Indies national team in 50 tests. 

Sir Viv has not only contributed with his batting but also with his bowling. Talking about his contribution with the ball, Sir Viv has taken 118 wickets with an average of 35.83 in ODIs and has taken 32 wickets with an average of 61.37 in Test matches.
