                   O'Hara commenced her youth career with Peachtree City Lazers in 1997. In the summer of 2009, she joined the Pali Blues of the USL W-League, where she netted four goals during her time with the team. Over the course of her career, she has been associated with various clubs, including FC Gold Pride, Boston Breakers, Sky Blue FC (later renamed Gotham FC), and, most recently, the Washington Spirit.

Within the NWSL, O'Hara has showcased her talents with teams such as Sky Blue FC, Utah Royals, the Washington Spirit, and NJ/NY Gotham FC. Notably, she made history as the inaugural free agent signing in the NWSL upon her return to New Jersey to play for Gotham in 2023.

In the remarkable 2021 season, O'Hara played a pivotal role in guiding the Spirit to the NWSL title. Her notable contribution included scoring the game-winning goal with a header in the 97th minute of overtime during the Championship Match. This crucial goal secured a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Red Stars, marking the Washington Spirit's first-ever trophy.

                    O'Hara was a representative of the United States youth teams from 2005 to 2010, showcasing her skills across various age groups such as U16, U17, and U20. During her time with the U20 team, she scored an impressive 24 goals in 35 caps. Notably, she played a crucial role in the United States U20 Women's National Soccer team, contributing to their fourth-place finish in the 2006 FIFA U20 Women's World Championship.
