The Career of Roberto Bautista Agut

Roberto started playing tennis at a very small age of 5. His favorite shot is his forehand. Roberto's idols growing up were David Ferrer and Juan Carlos Ferrero. In March 2002, Roberto won his biggest title yet in the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai. He only lost one set and also defeated the in-form Lucas Pouille in the final.

Roberto eventually became the first player outside the top ten, to win the event after Fabrice Santoro won it in 2002. Roberto's career as a junior compiled an impressive singles win/loss record of 41–13, reaching as high as No. 47 in Junior World Rankings as of July 2006.

In the year 2009, he qualified for the ATP 500 tournament in Valencia. In the first round, Roberto lost to Albert Montañés. In the year 2012, he qualified for his first Grand Slam appearance in the Australian Open. Unfortunately, he lost in the first round to Ricardo Mello in straight sets. On 13 August 2012, Roberto successfully entered the top 100 list for the first time after his outstanding performances in Challenger tournaments. This was Roberto's fourth career title and his second title in the year 2016. In the year 2017, he won his fifth career title in the Chennai Open where he successfully defeated Daniil Medvedev in straight sets. In the same year, he also took part in the Winston-Salem Open, and eventually, Roberto went onto win his second 250 title of the year, and sixth of his career.

At the end of 2017, Roberto was ranked no.20 in the world whereas, in the year 2018, he was ranked no 24 in the world. Roberto successfully entered the world's top ten for the first time in the year 2019. In the year 2019, he even made it up to the semifinals at Wimbledon, but unfortunately, Roberto was defeated by Novak Djokovic in four sets.
