The Career of Mitchell Santner-

In April 2015, Santner was selected in the New Zealand limited-overs squad for the England tour. In June 2015, Mitchell made his debut in One Day International cricket (ODI) for New Zealand in a match against England. Santner's first international wicket came when he dismissed fellow debutant Sam Billings for 3 runs. During the fourth ODI of the same series, he scored 28 runs off Adil Rashid in a single over, which stands as the second-highest runs scored off one over in England. He also debuted in Twenty20 International cricket during the same series on 23 June 2015.

On 27 November 2015, Mitchell made his Test debut in a match against Australia and the most interesting part of his debut was that it was the first ever Day/Night test match ever played. Santner marked the beginning of his Test career by hitting a boundary off the first ball he faced. He was selected as a premier spin bowler in the New Zealand squad, alongside Nathan McCullum, who was on his final international tour. In the first match against India, Santner's exceptional bowling performances earned him the man of the match award, leading his team to a 47-run victory. His figures of 4 for 11 are the best bowling figures by a New Zealand spinner in an ICC Twenty20 tournament.

In the year 2019, Santner was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for INR 50 Lakhs and made his debut in the Indian Premier League. Playing for the Chennai Super Kings, he hit a six off the last ball of the match to secure victory against the Rajasthan Royals. In November 2019, during a match against England at Bay Oval, Santner scored his first Test century. His partnership of 261 runs with BJ Watling became the highest-ever 7th wicket partnership for New Zealand in Test cricket. He also took three wickets in the second innings, becoming the first New Zealand spinner to take a wicket on home soil since March 2018, with 101 consecutive Test wickets falling to seamers in between.

Mitchell was named in New Zealand's squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. In the year 2023, Santner won the IPL with the Chennai Super Kings.
