The Career of Hashim Amla-

In the year 2004, Amla made his Test debut in a match against India. Amla's initial phase in Test cricket was full of ups and downs but he worked hard on improving his batting and successfully ensured his position on the national side. In the 2008 calendar year, Amla scored 1012 runs in test matches whereas he also scored 1058 runs in ODI making him the first cricketer to do so. In the year 2012, Hashim Amla became the first South African to score a triple century in Test cricket when he scored 311 runs against England

Talking about his ODI career, Amla made his ODI debut in the year 2008 against Bangladesh. In the year 2010, Amla was part of the team touring West Indies for the 5-match ODI series where he scored two centuries and a half-century in the series. Hashim had consistently performed well for the national side and was the most reliable South African batsman in the 2010s. Amla was selected in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup where he scored his highest ODI score of 159 against Ireland in a group stage match. Hashim made his T20I debut in the year 2009 against Australia. Hashim was always considered more of a technical and classy batsman rather than a hard hitter or a fast player but he proved everyone wrong with some quite outstanding performances in T20 internationals. Hashim's highest score in T20 international is 97* whereas he has also scored 8 Amla represented the national side in 3 T20I World Cups before retiring in the year 2018. 

Hashim was also selected in the 2019 World Cup squad where he scored a couple of fifties but was not in his best form. In the year 2019, after continuous, bad performances and inconsistent form Hashim decide to retire from International Cricket.
