Sachin was given his most memorable bat when he was 11 years old. As a 14-year-old, he utilized it to score 329 out of a world-record stand of 664 in a school match. After a year he scored hundred years on his top-of-the-line debut for Bombay (Mumbai), and at age 16 years 205 days, Sachin made a new record as the youngest cricketer, against Pakistan on November 1989. When Sachin was 18 years old, he scored two centuries against Australia (148 in Sydney and 114 in Perth) at their home, and in the year 1994, Sachin scored a massive 179 against the West Indies. In August 1996, at the age of 23, Sachin was made the skipper of the Indian National Team.

Despite the fact that India was crushed in the elimination rounds of the 1996 Cricket World Cup, Tendulkar rose as the competition's top run scorer, with 523 runs.
