In the same year, he also played a minor role in The Monocled Mutineer as the soldier Franny. In the year 1988, he appeared as character Freddie in the ITV drama, The Fear. He also performed for six episodes as D.S Eddie Hargreaves in the drama Between The Lines from 1992 to 1994.
He performed as Corporal Paddy Garvey alongside Robson Green in the series Soldier Soldier which began in 1991 and ended in 1997. Flynn and Green performed Unchained Melody in the series which they recorded and released as a single, a double A-side with White Cliffs of Dover, as they were persuaded by record producer Simon Cowell. The single released under the name Robson & Jerome reached number one in the UK chart in 1995. More than 1.9 million copies of the singles are sold and it stayed at number 1 for 7 weeks in the UK Singles Chart, making it the best-selling single of the year.
